This is a bit of a fun page, in fact in this photo shoot with Federica we played some special techniques of creative photography for achieving such lights effects. Depending by how you use the light, you get very different results and even if you don't have high-end equipment you can get very good results. Here for example, we have used a small bulb light that one of my assistants held and the final effect is very warm (see last photo). The ISO setting was 2000.
